Kill Team: Into the Dark and Shadowvaults6th Feb 2023
With the latest Kill team news of Soulshackle coming soon we wanted to review the first two box sets in the Gallowdark season.
Back in the Autumn Gamesworkshop release Into the Dark with some lovely new Kroot models and brand new Imperial Navy breachers for the first Kill team boxset situated on a Space hulk.
Then to really ramp things up, hot on the heels of Into the Dark they released the next expansion with the elite Kasrkin and some new Necrons in Shadowvaults.
For the Kroot models you should grab a F3H, this tray holds 18 models so is perfectly for the Kroot Farstalker Kindband.
The SM58 will hold up to 20 models which makes it perfect for the Imperial Navy Breachers who are much shorter than their new rival Kroot models.
With the Kasrkin, the size increase over regular Imperial guard is quite noticeable, and so their tray recommendation is also the F3H having plenty of room for this team, although the N3H would work as well.
Lastly the Necron Hierotek Circle have a lot of difference model sizes, with the Technomancer on 50mm base being the largest based model in this edition of Kill Team so far, not to mention the plasmacytes on their detailed scenic bases. We therefore recommend the J2H which gives you plenty of foam pluck option to get the compartments exactly right to your team and any variation you might make with the upgrade sprue.
Shadowvaults also included a bonus terrain sprue that had a robot and a Sentry Turret. These models would fit nicely in the V2H tray with plenty of room for other bits of scenery.
